With the good, sometimes comes the bad...

I have been off my high blood pressure meds since Friday. Since then I have gained 3 lbs. Yep, that water weight that the diuretic (HCTZ) used to get rid of, is now sticking around...

sigh...

  1. Oy. Always something. Oh well it's watermelon season, and watermelon is a natural diuretic. And asparagus, and artichokes too!

  2. Ah, but as my granny used to say - it's a pain, but it's a GOOD pain! A sign that things are looking up for you - and hurray for that. Well done on bringing your blood pressure down to normal!

  3. I am looking forward to being off my BP meds. At least you know why you gained and it is was nothing you did.

  4. The good, the bad and the ugly. You got the good and the bad, but girlfriend, you're not ugly. :-)

  5. Ugh. I take this med, and I sort of dread going off it because I love being bloat free! In the past when I have gone off I have gained 3 or 4 lbs. It is discouraging, but hopefully it will even out. Good job getting off the meds!

  6. That water weight gain is TEMPERARY. Stay off the scale for a week and be sure to drink lots of water. And for crying out loud, ENJOY the fact that you don't need the meds anymore!
